Job Description: Sage's acquisition of Spherics, creators of award-winning carbon accounting software, led to the launch of Sage Earth. This new brand combines Sage's global SaaS expertise with climate science and technology to help businesses achieve net zero. Sage Earth software automates data collection and tracks carbon footprints using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, helping businesses set science-based targets.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Product Owner to take ownership of the product backlog, ensuring it aligns with the company's strategic goals and customer needs.
Please note that this role is hybrid and requires working 3 days a week from either our Bristol, Newcastle or Manchester office.
- Own and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring it is clearly defined, organised, and aligned with business objectives, stakeholder needs, and a balance between new features, technical debt, and bug fixes.
- Write clear, concise, and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria to ensure the development team understands the "what" and "why" of the work.
- Collaborate with the engineering team during sprint planning to ensure priorities are addressed, adjust the backlog based on reviews and retrospectives, and ensure it aligns with the broader product strategy and evolving business and customer needs.
- Champion the product, ensuring alignment of vision, roadmap, and delivery while prioritizing the backlog with data-driven decisions.
- Work with QA to ensure features meet quality expectations and acceptance criteria, while promoting continuous improvement through analysis of product performance, user feedback, and team output to refine the backlog and processes.
- Solid background as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in an Agile/Scrum setting, with proven success working with remote and distributed teams.
- Understanding of software development processes and lifecycle, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Experience in managing SaaS or API-based products.
- Proficient in product management tools (e.g., Jira, Miro, or similar) with a solid understanding of user story creation and backlog management.
- Familiarity with data-driven decision-making and product analytics.
