AWE is looking for a proactive Project Coordinator to join a supportive and growing team, working together to deliver projects that support the business mission.
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: Starting from £29,340 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)
Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. We will consider flexible working requests so that your work may fit in with your lifestyle. Just let us know your preferred working pattern on your application.
Let us introduce the role
As a Project Coordinator, you will play a key part in the delivery of seven new state-of-the-art facilities, thus allowing us to deliver on our future missions. Your role will entail:
- Providing accurate and relevant project coordination support to the project management team to ensure the project stays on track and is delivered to schedule.
- Delivering assigned tasks in accordance with requirements of the project with consideration to operational constraints.
- Maintaining and promoting high personal standards in security, environment, safety, health and quality.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative team worker, with an organised and methodical approach. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to start an exciting Project Management career with us and be a part of setting the foundations for the future of AWE.
We do need you to have the following:
- The ability to apply processes to support lower risk tasks within a formal project environment.
- Skills to undertake crucial tasks to coordinate the activities of project teams to ensure a smooth and successful on-time delivery of a complex project with the guidance of a project manager.
Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
- Self-motivation and the desire to foster good team morale and spirit to motivate others.
- Organisational flair and IT skills to assist with the creation of reports, action plans and managing project requests.
- Attention to detail to assist with the provision of accurate reports and project documentation.
- Good listening skills enabling requests to be assimilated and converted into action plans.
You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.

Hybrid working is available for this role on an informal, non-contractual basis. Typically 2 days onsite per week.
