We are recruiting for a Project Controls Project Director to join our team and be part of our ambitious growth plans for 2025 as we partner with key clients across Rail, Highways, Utilities, Aviation, and Ports.
In this role, you will lead, develop, and implement our Risk and Integrated Project Controls services across our capital program portfolio and shape and grow our National and Regional teams. You will be an industry-leading SME in either/or both Risk Management and Project Controls. You will be responsible for supporting the leadership of the Risk and Integrated Project Controls service line, business development, key account management, recruitment, and growing our Regional and UK Infrastructure business.
You will play a leading role in strengthening Gleeds' Project Controls profile and proposition, both internally and externally.
About You
What we are looking for in our next Project Director - Project Controls:
- Support identifying new business development opportunities and driving growth across the UK Infrastructure business.
- Deliver high-quality services and deliverables ensuring that services meet our Customer's requirements.
- Review the scope of appointments to ensure services are being delivered by team members in accordance with appointments.
- Manage and maintain Customer relationships (i.e., Clients, business partners, and other consultants).
- Manage employees, focusing on retention and development.
- Develop and enhance Gleeds Risk Management and Integrated Project Controls capability and proposition including data analytics and reporting capabilities.
- Represent Gleeds in the external market at industry events.
- Brief employees on relevant aspects of Gleeds business.
- Lead and support bids for services.
- Manage the commercial aspects of projects (e.g., scope of services/deliverables, invoices, payments, and debt management).
- Lead and manage teams.
- Produce and own the Project Controls business plan for the Infrastructure, creating structure and functional leadership in each of the sub-disciplines (planning, etc.) and integrating with the wider PMO services offers.
Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of Project Controls methodology and interactions.
- Experience in functional assurance, proposition development, and Project Controls implementation in multiple sectors.
- Engagement with industry bodies, software providers, and educational institutions in the further development of project controls tools, processes, and systems.
- Experience in the development of digital project controls solutions and the implementation of data analytics and dashboarding outputs.
- The ability to deliver project assurance and prescribe recovery actions to maintain key delivery targets.
- Extensive business development skills and the integration of project controls into a wider service proposition.
- Strong recruitment and staff attraction skills.
- Experience of senior management engagement on project controls.
- Major capital project governance.
- CAPEX and OPEX modeling/forecasting methods and tools.
- Cost control methods and tools.
- Risk analysis methods and tools.
- Change and decision management.
- Planning/program/schedule management, including specific knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Familiarity with web-based database/reporting tools - ARM, Xactium, Predict, Tableau, PowerBI.
- Commission management and project controls service development and delivery.
- Drive innovation in project controls and be recognized as an Industry Expert.
