IT Project Manager Required
Office based in: Stevenage, SG1
£600 per day via umbrella (NO LTD)
Starting: April
Duration: 6 months, minimum
Key Responsibilities:
- Draw up and maintain project and communication plans that will support the delivery of the various IT projects being undertaken.
- Effectively manage and report on project budgets.
- Work with all parties to agree, co-ordinate and schedule project activities.
- Direct and motivate the project team as appropriate.
- Work closely with suppliers and book relevant technical resources to deliver project tasks.
- Produce and share weekly/bi-weekly/monthly project highlight reports.
- Highlight IT project risks, evaluate, communicate to key people and manage those risks. If necessary, feed these risks into the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans.
- Manage expectations for the delivery of the project and escalate issues on deadlines as early as possible to enable appropriate corrective action to be taken.
- Undertake project closure as per the IT project management approach.
- Ensure that the necessary project documentation has been completed.
- Manage changes to the originally agreed scopes of work through change control and document results clearly communicated to all key stakeholders.
- Ensure project management methodology is always followed during the IT change lifecycle.
- Ability to build and maintain client and stakeholder relationships.
- Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence individuals at all levels.
- Experience of financial accounting and reporting practices, such as costs and risks.
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with technical staff, business stakeholders, and senior management.
- Experience of managing IT projects or IT change in a range of different organisations/market sectors.
- Thorough understanding of the project management process throughout the lifecycle and the ability to identify issues and take corrective action.
- Experience of managing complex and senior stakeholder interactions.
- Experience working on projects which have required significant business change management.
- Experience of working with formal project methodologies (e.g., APM, PRINCE 2) and associated accreditation (e.g., PRINCE2 Practitioner).
- Experience of managing third-party suppliers.
- Ensure all required processes, procedures, and controls are in place.
- Experience of managing multiple projects/workstreams.
- Provision of reporting and metrics which demonstrate effective governance and control which meet customer/business requirements.
- Risk/Issue Management and ensuring escalation processes are in place and used effectively.
- Degree or equivalent; professional qualification advantageous (such as PRINCE2/AgilePM).
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience.
