Job Description

A Project Manager to manage the design, construction and commissioning of 33kV substations and 33kV cable circuits across the region, managing a small team. This role carries the responsibility for the entire project lifecycle and handover to the client.

We're looking for someone to take on a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of high voltage power systems. The role requires a dedicated Protection & Control Commissioning Engineer to join our team, responsible for testing and commissioning cutting-edge electrical power generation, distribution, and transmission systems ranging from 400V to 400kV.

Your Role:

  1. Commission complex protection and control schemes across a diverse range of low and high-voltage electrical network projects.
  2. Work on systems such as transformers, Tapchanger, switchgear, and telecontrol systems in substations and power stations, all the way up to 400kV.
  3. Ensure that these schemes are fully tested, commissioned, and operational, meeting our high standards of safety, quality, and compliance with health and safety legislation.
  4. Work on a variety of projects, ensuring everything is delivered on time, on budget, and in line with the latest industry standards.
  5. Play a pivotal role in building and maintaining fit-for-purpose, high-performance networks that power our future.

What We're Looking For:

  1. A relevant electrical qualification (HNC or degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering).
  2. A minimum of 3 years' experience working with protection, control, telecontrol, or SCADA systems within high-voltage environments (substations or power stations).
  3. Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of electrical power distribution and generation protection systems, including relay types, scheme types, and testing procedures.
  4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  5. A proactive attitude, keen problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  6. SSEN Cat 1-3 accreditation.
