Job overviewWe are looking for a Practitioner Psychologist to join our established community Offender Personality Disorder Pathway (OPD) team covering Norfolk and Suffolk. This is a part time opportunity at 22.5 hours per week, however funding is available for up to 27.5 hours per week. We would like you to work Wednesdays but there is flexibility on the other days. Our MDT works flexibly during the week to provide support to our service users and probation colleagues across Norfolk and Suffolk. There will be a requirement to travel across Norfolk and Suffolk.
This is an interesting, varied and rewarding role and ideal for someone curious and keen to gain experience in this complex, specialist field.
Main duties of the jobYou will be joining the team in providing support to Probation Practitioners in the region through offering them consultations and formulations, reflective practice sessions and training. You will also work within our Atlas service which delivers psychologically informed intervention to people on probation following release from prison or hospital who have personality difficulties.
Experience working with people in secure settings or the Criminal Justice System will be helpful but is not essential. You will be given supervision, support and training to settle into the role and develop your skills. A positive attitude towards people with personality difficulties is essential.

This is a versatile role. The successful candidate will be required to help deliver our Core and Atlas OPD service. Main duties will involve (but not exclusive to):
- Offering psychological case advice and guidance in the form of consultations with probation practitioners and other professionals who work with people on probation.
- Authoring psychological formulations to help professionals work effectively with people with personality difficulties.
- Design, delivery and evaluation of training packages.
- Delivery of reflective practice to professionals.
- Working closely with team members to oversee delivery of intervention under the IIRMS model.
- Delivering intervention to service users in line with skills and expertise.
- Registered as a practitioner psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Evidence of CPD in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
- Experience of working with a wide variety and severity of client groups & clinical problems, in various settings, including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems.
- Experience of working with a range of complex and challenging behaviours and exercising full clinical responsibility for psychological treatment.
- Experience of representing psychology within MDT setting (clinical and organisational contexts).
- Skills in consultation to professional and non-professional groups
- Ability to travel independently
