Freelance Python Developer - Ghent

Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to join our client on a freelance basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-performance applications using Django and parallel programming techniques. The initial contract is for 6 months, with the potential to extend for 12 months or indefinitely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain scalable web applications using Python and Django.
• Implement parallel programming techniques to optimize performance.
• Work with Celery for task scheduling (preferred but not essential).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment.
• Ensure code quality through testing, debugging, and best practices.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in Python development.
• Strong expertise in Django for web application development.
• Experience with parallel processing and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Celery is a plus but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in English (Dutch is preferred but not required).
• Ability to work onsite 3 days per week.

Contract Details:

• Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week).
• Duration: 6-month initial contract, with the potential for 12 months or indefinite extension.
• Start Date: Flexible.
