The Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic QA Lead to join our growing London based team. Working in an agile environment we are looking for people who can work on their own initiative and often without direction. Comfortable working with Developers, internal users as well as product specialists and founders. This highly rewarding role is at the very heart of our plans over the next 5 years and beyond to build our business into a leader in its market. Although the successful applicant will be focused on software quality, they will also get to be fully involved with product specification, design and dev co-ordination, so there will be a big opportunity to learn new skills, and expand the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the QA function (this is a startup role ~ ability to build a team), ensure that only quality deliveries are promoted to production.
- Design and develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices, for both manual and automated tests.
- Maintain, write and develop our automated test coverage, including managing our automated Jenkins build server.
- Lead multiple QA projects, communicate/present QA delivery updates to founders and other team members.
- Capture test defects in JIRA and ensure assignment for resolution.
- Learn and take on new responsibilities, develop existing and new skills.
- Be involved in the analysis, specification and development of new features to ensure that testing requirements are considered and ahead of any development.
- Analyse test environmental issues, diagnose and resolve problems.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements in software testing to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- 5+ years in software quality assurance
- Strong knowledge and experience in manual and automated testing, along with analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (eg Jira, MSTest, Jenkins)
- Basic Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#/Java, JavaScript, SQL.
- Basic understanding of software design including asynchronous, synchronous paradigms and race conditions.
- Structured approach with the ability to keep JIRA and Confluence tasks up to date
- Bachelor's degree
Nice to have:
- Engineering or Mathematical Degree
- Exposure to build environments using Jenkins
- Experience of working with remote teams

- Salary £45,000 - £55,000 (Depending on experience)
