Job Title: Quality Engineer - Field Engineer

Hourly Rate: £35 PAYE or £46.18 UMBRELLA
Based at supplier sites: 90% UK Based. 10% International
Contract Length: 12-month (with opportunity to be extended)

About the Role
BAE are seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Submarines team. This role provides a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact in ensuring compliance with our Quality Business Management System. You will serve as a subject matter expert within the Quality Function, driving excellence and promoting high safety, health, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide specialist guidance on quality compliance and standards (ISO 9001/EN9100).
2. Conduct routine and non-routine inspections.
3. Facilitate and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using methodologies such as Fishbone, 5 Whys, and Six Sigma.
4. Interpret and communicate specifications, procedures, and contract requirements.
5. Perform assessments in alignment with schedule requirements.
6. Engage with stakeholders effectively, including customers, to manage quality assurance activities.

Knowledge and Skills

1. Expertise in ISO 9001/EN9100 standards and Business Management Systems.
2. Proficient in Operational Framework, Operational Assurance processes, and product safety standards.
3. Strong understanding of export requirements (e.g., ITAR).
4. Effective action management, verification, and stakeholder management.
