The successful candidate will be responsible for managing costs, contracts, and financial aspects of carpentry projects, ensuring efficiency and profitability. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry processes, cost estimation, and commercial management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee cost management and procurement strategies for carpentry projects.
- Prepare and manage budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and value engineering exercises.
- Manage contract administration, including variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve cost efficiency.
- Monitor project expenditures and provide financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior quantity surveyors.
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on carpentry projects.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry materials, methods, and installation processes.
- Proficiency in cost management software and contract administration.
- Experience with standard construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC, FIDIC).
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Membership in RICS, CIOB, or similar professional body is preferred.
