We have recently been awarded a brand new area across Aldershot to provide operational support in the preparation and maintenance of Service Family Accommodation throughout the area. To support the brand new area, we are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team and lead on the commercial aspects of the contract. Reporting in to the Senior Commercial Manager, who oversees the entire housing contract, you will take ownership for the entire Aldershot region and will be responsible for ensuring the successful management and control of all aspects of the commercial/financial and contractual elements of the project. This includes controlling expenditure, reconciling cost/value reports and profit forecasts, assisting the Contract Manager with pre-start planning and programming, and managing sub-contract accounts and variation accounts.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Taking ownership for the financial and commercial elements of the contract for the project area, and providing accurate advice to the management and operational teams as required.
• Continuously assessing, monitoring and reporting on any commercial risks across the project.
• Organising and co-ordinating the subcontractor invitation to tender.
• Taking responsibility for estimating and providing accurate costing to management teams.
• Assisting the Senior Commercial Manager with a variety of commercial responsibilities.
• Conducting final accounting across the works completed by the operational team and assisting in obtaining correct payments from the client.
• Directly managing a QS Admin, conducting regular performance reviews, offering support, training, and development to ensure high standards of work.

Experience Required:

• Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within housing refurbishment projects is preferred.
• Relevant Quantity Surveying Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to provide advice, support, and guidance as the business continues to grow within MoD Housing.
• Schedule of Rates Experience preferred but not essential.
• Demonstrable experience in managing teams, performance, and projects effectively.
• Acute Commercial knowledge of tendering, budget, cost control & risk.
• Thorough understanding of NEC 3 & 4, and JCT term contracts.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and asset management systems.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
