CGI are on the hunt for a Release Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of software releases across various environments.
Please note: occasional travel will be required across Reading/ London and all candidates must hold active "SC clearance" due to customer requirements so please consider this when applying.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Release Planning & Coordination: Develop and maintain release schedules, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical teams.
• Process Management: Establish and optimize release management processes, including automation, deployment strategies, and rollback procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development, QAT, operations, and product teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of releases.
• Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with releases while resolving issues quickly.
• Deployment & Monitoring: Oversee deployment activities, validate successful releases, and monitor post-release performance to ensure stability.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintain detailed release notes, documentation, and ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

• Strong understanding of release management principles and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and deployment automation tools.
• Excellent project management, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to analyse risks, troubleshoot issues, and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Strong communication skills to liaise between technical and business teams.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
