Research Manager

Research Manager | 18 Month Contract | (Inside IR35) | Onsite Required - Edinburgh - Hybrid

Day Rate: £232.48

Job Description:

You will

• Report to the Project Research Lead, and be a part of the internal research and analysis team to manage and execute a series of report publications. (10%)
• Carry-out the day-to-day research and analysis elements of project, including research analysis, design, data protection and other considerations. (30%)
• Employ qualitative analysis tools, such as NVivo, to support the ongoing analysis and outputs of team. If you have not done this before, a willingness to quickly learn this method and any other software as required. (40%)
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including engagement and participation staff, to ensure the successful operation and logistics of the project. (5%)
• Monitor risks, put mitigating actions in place and raise/escalate issues regarding delays/blockages. (5%)
• Work on other duties as required to support wider team activities. (10%)

Essential Skills

• Extensive experience of applying a range of social research methods to address research questions.
• Experience of critically evaluating data and other research evidence with high accuracy and perception to meet the needs of research users.
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) when dealing with complex issues, to influence decision making and make an impact.
• Substantial experience in planning and managing all stages of the research including research design, delivery, write up and dissemination.

Qualifications

• Candidates should hold a PHD, or a Master's degree with practical experience, in a relevant social science, public health, or related field where there was a substantive emphasis on the use of both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
