Job Description

Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Risk and Controls Analyst (IB) for a 6 Month contract based in London (Hybrid basis).

Purpose of the Role:

If you're looking for a new challenge, where you can play a key role in preventing potential risks to our customers, this could be the ideal role for you. You'll work in partnership with the first line of defence and businesses in applying effective risk management, and anticipating and assessing the potential impacts of risk across the bank.

As a Risk and Controls Analyst (IB) you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing supervision and risk control frameworks, working closely with the Front Office.
  • Ensuring the supervisory framework is maintained and aligned with regulatory requirements to mitigate trading risks and protect the bank.
  • Preparing regulatory and governance reports, analysing market trends and compliance risks.
  • Conducting data analysis to identify patterns and insights, supporting regulatory reporting.
  • Training supervisors and junior team members on risk controls and governance procedures.
  • Managing supervision controls and contributing to ongoing improvements in risk frameworks.

What We Require from the Candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience in Risk and Control, preferably within Investment Banking.
  • Risk, Control, and Supervision background.
  • No specific system experience required, but familiarity with data-driven reporting is essential.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Experience in regulatory compliance, governance, and risk frameworks.
  • Ability to manage large datasets, conduct trend analysis, and present findings.
  • No client-facing experience required.
