Job Description
River Restoration Programme Advisor Closing Date: 27 April 2025 Location: Flexible Team / Directorate: Freshwater Ecosystems and Fisheries Management / Evidence, Policy & Permitting Starting salary: £36,246 rising to £39,942 per annum through annual increments being paid each year (pro rata for part time applicants) Contract type: Fixed-term Work pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week (Part time, annualised hours, compressed hours or term time working considered - discussions at interview stage welcome) Interview date: to be confirmed Post number: 203019 (For office use only: ENV GGL GRJ TTJ M) The role This role is part of NRW s national River Restoration Programme and works across every aspect of the programme. As well as contributing to the day to day running of the programme, this includes inputting to our ongoing strategy, planning and prioritisation to ensure we deliver multiple benefits via our restoration work. The role involves provision of best practice technical advice and guidance to projects internally and externally as well as preparation of evidence and ongoing communications. The role also requires the development and project management of river restoration projects as necessary, working internally and externally to ensure that best practice river restoration is achieved. You will be part of the Freshwater Ecosystems and Fisheries Management team which sits in Natural Resources Management Policy. You will work across NRW with other staff in NRM Policy, Environment Teams and People and Places Teams as well as engaging with stakeholders. As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the nearest NRW office to your home and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.
