Responsibilities- Demonstrates competency in performance of scrub/surgical routines and aseptic technique.
- Understands and utilizes established guidelines for operation of autoclaves and steris units.
- Accepts personal accountability for proper handling and optimum care of all department supply, instrument, and equipment inventory.
- Utilizes the nursing process throughout the perioperative setting per patient assessment.
- Demonstrates and conveys theoretical knowledge and skills related to perioperative nursing care.
- Thorough/Accurate/Complete documentation of intraoperative patient care.
- Understands / Demonstrates / Conveys knowledge related to proper intraoperative patient positioning.
- Assists with completion and accuracy of surgical sponge, sharps/miscellaneous items, and instrument counts.
- Assists with maintenance of up-to-date preference sheets.
- Effectively demonstrates critical thinking, prioritization of duties, and time management skills.
- Maintains accuracy with patient charge process and ensures all pertinent data is provided to post case data personnel.
- Strives to ensure efficiency in turn around time between procedures.
- Must possess current hospital experience (within the past 5 years).
- Must be knowledgeable regarding the nursing process and its application.
- Prefer minimum of 1 year recent perioperative experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Essential: Experience In Hospital Or Acute Care Setting, Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal, Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members, Able To Withstand Crisis Situations, Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors, Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records.
CredentialsEssential: RN - Registered Nurse, BLS - Basic Life Saving certification.
EducationEssential: RN Diploma/RN Graduate Program.
EntryUSD $36.20/Hr.
ExpertUSD $59.73/Hr.
