Job Description

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a salaried GP to join us for between 4 sessions per week, across 2 or 3 days.

You will be responsible for provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice contributing to the effective management of the practice, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the whole team.

You will be required to complete one session per week visiting a local care home to complete a ward round.

About us

We are a friendly, supportive trainingpractice in North London looking for a salaried GP for 4 sessions. We currently have 7 salaried GPs, 5 GP Partners and a ManagementPartner. We also have nurses, HCAs and Pharmacists in our clinical team, alongwith supportive staff from our PCN including GPs, Pharmacists, FCPs, CareCoordinators and SPLW.

We are a GMS training practice and have over17,600 patients.

Our practice is part of a Primary CareNetwork and our local Federation and actively involved in a range of schemesand services to provide high quality to the local population.

We have a team of highly trained secretaries,medical assistants and prescription clerks to reduce your admin. We use Emis Web, AccuRX, Docman 10.

We offer £11,978 per session with medicalindemnity cover, NHS Pension and 6 weeks annual leave pro rata.

Job responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMS contract, additional and enhanced services where appropriate.
  • Provide other general medical services to meet identified patient need.
  • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare works within the organisation.
  • Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice; disease management protocols, provide counselling and health education.
  • Work within current NCL ICB policy for prescribing.
  • Be available and accessible to patients at all times as agreed.
  • Maximise the effective use of current clinical computer systems. Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to an agreed standard.
  • Compile and issue computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).
  • Undertake all duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
  • Attend team meetings and other clinical meetings as necessary.
Person Specification Qualifications
  • Qualified GP
  • MRCGP
  • General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
  • National Performers List registration
  • Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
