Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Transition Lead to join our close-knit team at Bricklehurst Manor School.

About the role

For many students arriving at Bricklehurst Manor, their previous experience of school has not been positive, and they can arrive with negative views of education. In this role you will take responsibility for supporting students as they transition into school. You will also be responsible for supporting students at the other end of their school career, as we want to ensure they are able to successfully transfer into the next phase of their learning journey.

This role involves assisting students during transitional periods, ensuring they feel supported, confident, and prepared for both their arrival at school, their return to school and their move to new educational settings. The Transition Lead will collaborate closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective transition plans are in place for each student.

The successful candidate will also play a pivotal role in supporting students with any Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) by working closely with the Leadership team to develop and implement clear transition plans that facilitate a smooth integration between home and school. This role will involve a combination of on-site and home-based support to meet the diverse needs of our students. The successful applicant will need to drive and have use of own transport.

Essential:

  • HLTA or a similar support role within a school setting
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent, or a relevant teaching assistant qualification.
  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
  • Full UK Driving Licence
