Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical SEO Consultant to enhance our clients' organic search performance across Home & Garden, Financial Services, E-commerce, Travel, and Technology industries. You'll work closely with developers, content strategists, and UX teams to drive technical SEO success, ensuring our clients' websites are optimized for search engines, AI-powered search, and Core Web Vitals, ensuring KPIs are exceeded.

Key Responsibilities

Technical SEO Audits/Strategy Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth SEO audits for client websites, identifying technical issues and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive on-page and off-page SEO strategies.
  • Lead SEO for site re-platforming projects, website migrations, and Go-Live checklists, ensuring no loss of organic visibility and performance enhancement wherever possible.
  • Perform keyword research to identify opportunities and inform content creation.
  • Develop on-site content strategies and support in delivering detailed content briefs for clients to execute.
  • Collaborate with content, development, and UX teams to improve site architecture, page speed (Core Web Vitals, Sustainability), and usability.
  • Monitor and analyse client website performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Ahrefs (alongside other tools).
  • Prepare client-facing SEO performance reports with actionable insights.
  • Stay up to date with algorithm updates, search trends, and industry best practices.
  • Being the Thought-Leader and an innovator in SEO, considering it as a component in an evolving 'discoverability' sector, where AI and other trends are starting to take hold.

Execution & Collaboration

  • Work closely with developers, UX, content, and PPC teams to integrate technical SEO best practices across digital projects.
  • Support site migrations and technical implementations, ensuring SEO priorities are met.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine SEO strategies based on industry trends, algorithm updates, and competitive insights.
  • Provide actionable SEO roadmaps to Account Managers and internal teams, ensuring data-driven prioritisation.

SEO Research & Emerging Trends

  • Conduct keyword research, SERP analysis, and competitor benchmarking to identify ranking opportunities.
  • Stay ahead of Google algorithm updates, AI-powered search trends, and evolving best practices in discoverability.
  • Perform server log analysis and crawl budget optimisation to improve indexation efficiency.

Client-Facing SEO & Business Growth

  • Present findings, insights, and technical SEO recommendations to clients and internal teams.
  • Assist with new business acquisition through in-depth SEO audits and strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed SEO performance reports with actionable insights to guide client decision-making.
  • Being the Thought-Leader and an innovator in SEO, considering it as a component in an evolving 'discoverability' sector, where AI, sustainability and other trends are starting to take hold.

Skills and Experience

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in SEO with a technical SEO specialism
  • Proven experience in delivering measurable SEO performance for clients in an agency setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Google algorithms, ranking factors, and search engine crawling behaviour.
  • Strong technical SEO knowledge, including experience with site migrations, platform launches, and fixing complex site issues.
  • Hands-on experience with schema markup, structured data, and rich snippets.
  • Understanding of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS as they impact SEO.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical SEO issues at scale.
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills for client-facing presentations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools like Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Looker Studio.
  • Strong ability to analyse data, identify trends, and drive actionable insights.
  • Ability to communicate technical strategies and results to clients in a clear and engaging way.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with A/B testing, CRO, and understanding landing page optimisation best practices.
  • Google Analytics Certifications are a plus.
  • Experience working with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, Sitecore, or Optimizely.
  • Experience delivering international technical SEO across multiple languages and regions (hreflang implementation etc).
  • Experience with AI-driven SEO tools, automation, and programmatic SEO.
  • Basic understanding of server-side rendering (SSR), edge SEO, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
