The Department Specialized Nuclear Services is part of the Division 'Energy Technology & Integrated Solutions' and as such operates within the Business Unit Industry South of Equans Belux.
The Department comprises 2 Sections: Nuclear Projects & Operations and Nuclear Engineering & Logistics. Together they generate a turnover of €35M with a staff of 300 people.
The mission of the Department consists in delivering integrated solutions to the nuclear sector including onsite technical services & material handling, nuclear logistics, decontamination & dismantling projects, design & build of nuclear packaging and tooling, and various expertise in specific nuclear domains.
The Section Nuclear Projects & Operations includes the following types of projects:

The Section Nuclear Projects & Operations includes the following types of projects:
- decommissioning and dismantling projects of nuclear installations and equipment
- decontamination activities on materials and installations
- waste sorting and characterization projects
- typical turnover: 10M€ / year
- mobility:
- within the set framework for the department: plan, organize, lead, coordinate and control all projects and related business activities of the specific section concerned, in order to reach the targeted objectives from a commercial, customer relationship, project implementation, financial turnover, budget, profit, and resources management point of view
- supervise the implementation steps related to the development of assets, services, and markets
- supervise the monitoring of projects from an implementation/operational point of view.
- maximize business performance in the short to medium term
- lead and coach the project managers from an operational/supervision point of view.
- watch over the application of safety, security, and quality standards
- maintain long-term relationships with customers, partners, and subcontractors and detect potential projects
- negotiate with clients and partners (in cooperation with Legal Department and Tendering)
- negotiate with subcontractors for the delivery of goods and services in accordance with the needs of the projects and the financial contractual conditions (in cooperation with Purchase Department)
- manage a team of project managers and ensure a positive work atmosphere.
- report regularly to the Department Manager on the activities and results of your section.
- make recommendations to the Department Manager in order to improve the overall management of the department
- emphasize the importance of contract management skills within your team, ensuring that all staff have a strong understanding of contractual obligations, effective contract negotiation, and compliance to enhance project success and mitigate risks
- a Master's Degree in engineering
- a solid background in mechanical concepts and nuclear applications
- 15+ years of experience in project management, ideally in a complex or nuclear environment
- strong leadership skills to motivate and challenge teams while ensuring high performance
- the ability to manage multiple projects and keep a clear strategic overview
- a strong financial mindset , ensuring budgets, reports, and profitability are well managed
- a commercial sense to identify and respond to nuclear market demands
- a customer-focused approach , building trust and long-term partnerships and tailored solutions
- a pragmatic, entrepreneurial approach with a knack for problem-solving
- excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- fluency in Dutch, French, and English (German is a plus)
