THE ROLE:

We have a great opportunity for a Security Manager to join our fast-growing team. We are seeking a highly experienced, dynamic Security Manager with a self-driven, proactive mindset to lead our team at an exciting site in London. The ideal candidate will possess an extensive knowledge of site security management, an innate understanding of team leadership and an intuitive approach to delivering an exemplary occupier and visitor experience that exceeds expectation. In addition, a thorough understanding of setting key operational and security strategy procedures and processes is integral to the role.

As Security Duty Manager, you will be responsible for recruiting, managing and empowering your team, setting the example as a strong, caring and inspiring leader with an ability to champion success and support where necessary. You will be self-motivated, confident in your communications and deal with all levels of stakeholders as second nature, with regular, meaningful interactions with the client and supporting them with any requests they may have.
The Security Manager will be the primary contact for any security matters, ensuring a prompt, decisive response to all incidents, whilst maintaining a sophisticated, anticipatory approach to service delivery in keeping with Amulet Policy.

The site encompasses offices, commercial, retail and restaurant units, as well as a large public transport hub close by. With the team working across front-of-house, back-of-house, loading bay and security control room, this makes for an exciting and varied role, utilising the broader aspects of the successful candidate's experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure that contract is manned to the agreed levels.
  • Manage the staff on assignment to ensure that the operational delivery of the service is maintained to the highest standards and to the complete satisfaction of the clients.
  • Work in tandem with the client on site to develop and implement procedures and policies in a dynamic and vibrant environment.
  • Provide updates on Assignment Instructions and monthly client reports as required for regular review with the Regional Manager.
  • Wherever applicable measure performance indicators to ensure standards are constantly maintained/improved.
  • Manage expenditure to the agreed budgets with no detrimental effect on service delivery.
  • Any complaints must be brought to the attention of the Regional Manager, logged in accordance with HR policies and remedied in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure that staff comply with Health and Safety requirements in all aspects of their work.
  • Regularly review all site policies and procedures and update as necessary.
  • Monitor staff performance and appraise staff in line with company policy.
  • Accurate rostering and forward planning of all officers, ensuring sufficient cover for holidays, sickness, and absences.
  • Planning, development, and implementing staff training, including both routine duties and emergency procedures.
  • Monitor faults with security-related equipment, ensuring they are reported correctly.
  • Being fully conversant with operational functions including Key Holding, Access Control, CCTV, Detection, and Alarm Systems, ensuring an effective monitoring and reporting function is maintained.
  • Participate in any arranged company training to improve standards of performance.
  • To be the first point of contact on shift for security function-related queries resolving more complex queries utilising experience and knowledge, referring any complaints with regards to security practices to the Senior Management Team.
  • Management of site deliveries, post, and any ad hoc requests that may arise.
  • Reviewing, approving and denying permit requests in line with client policy.
  • Maintaining positive working relationship with tenants and local business.
  • Other duties may be added from time to time according to the business needs and the discretion of the company, because of the nature of the duties and responsibilities which are attached to this post, working hours may be extended as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
  • 3 years Security Management experience
  • Working knowledge of UK Security Legislation
  • Knowledge of Security techniques
  • Understanding of Alarm and CCTV systems
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Confident and professional working approach and appearance
  • Strong customer service, client focused attitude with the ability to build good working relationships
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Resilient and tenacious with a 'can do' approach
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Previous experience of rostering software, e.g. Timegate
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite
  • Experience managing a multi-disciplined site
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
  • First Aid Qualification
  • Working knowledge of BICS, COSHH and RIDDOR
  • Fire Marshal Certificate
  • Health and Safety Qualification
  • Defibrillator Certificate
  • Hold a relevant management qualification
LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • CCTV & Door Supervisor Licence required.
