We are looking to hire ambitious, and value-adding talent to join Modulr, a fast-growing payments business in UK and Europe. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team successfully helping the travel market automate and optimise the way it pays suppliers and distribution partners.

Our regulatory permissions and governance structure are the foundations of our business. We are regulated and supervised as an Authorised Electronic Money Institution (AEMI) in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority and in the Netherlands by De Nederlandsche Bank.

The role

Key responsibilities

The Senior Account Executive role in our travel vertical is a senior hire in the business and will help Modulr drive vital penetration in the travel market and specifically virtual card issuance. From an extensive background in this market, we are looking for someone who can instantly hit the ground running by quickly understanding the Modulr travel product proposition and take it to market at pace. As an individual contributor, your success will be measured by the value of new logos signed and revenue generated from new Travel customers.

The successful Senior Account Executive will play a significant role in contributing and helping inform the travel vertical strategy to ensure Modulr continues to iterate on the best approach to market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with your SDR (team) to create outreach campaigns and cadences
  • Ability to build pipeline by prioritising and scheduling outreach activities
  • Add self-generated prospect accounts to Salesforce
  • Prioritise outreach activities to build pipeline exceeding your annual quota by 4x
  • Develop strategic partnerships with channel integrators, creating a win-win scenario for market access and solution delivery
  • Qualify opportunities and engage in detailed discovery process to identify pain and assess impact to build a business case for utilisation of Modulr solutions
  • Use MEDDPIC as a sales methodology
  • Be an individual contributor and sign new logos and upsell to existing logos to generate new revenue
  • From your pipeline accurately forecast on a quarterly basis by adopting the use of Clari
  • Build brand awareness by attending industry events across Europe
  • Adopt full use of Modulr's sales enablement tech stack including Salesforce, Clari, Salesloft and Seismic
  • Provide a constant feedback loop to product to help Modulr develop enhancements to the proposition

The team

You will report into VP Enterprise Sales (or Chief Commercial Officer in the interim), along with initially 3 other Sales Directors, 3 Solution Consultants and 7 Sales Development Reps. The Enterprise Sales team reports into the Chief Commercial Officer, alongside Account Management and SMB Business Payments teams.

About you

The successful Senior Account Executive will have a track record in delivering results in a scaling and fast-moving business and hence be comfortable with change and uncertainty. Excellent stakeholder management experience is essential to being successful in this role.

The ideal candidate

  • Ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges
  • Craft and convey compelling value propositions fostering collaboration to achieve consensus at all levels
  • Apply consultative sales approach, leading opportunity qualification with robust discovery of client needs
  • A track record of achieving high growth targets in a B2B Sales or Channel Partner role
  • 5 years + experience in the travel market selling virtual card solutions, and strong network in travel sector
  • Results & data focused whilst being engaging, driven, possessing the grit and adaptability to succeed in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Excellent deal negotiation and commercial structuring skills across a range of sectors with six-figure contract values
  • Ability to think laterally and explore creative solutions in both deal negotiation and customer solution design
  • First class communication skills, able to present, negotiate and influence at C-level

  • Appetite and enthusiasm for working as part of a small collegial team that is not afraid of getting their hands dirty and supporting each other
