Job Description

An award winning studio based in Glasgow City Centre who specialise in the design of low energy buildings, with low environmental impact, that are designed to the highest quality in the most cost effective manner. They are renowned for having a really talented team and a broad range of work across science, universities, residential, distilleries, commercial and education.

The Role

  1. Qualified and enthusiastic Part 3 Architect with strong design and delivery skills.
  2. You will have project support from assistant architects and technicians, operating within a team structure working closely with the Associate Directors, and Director of the studio.
  3. You must be capable of developing design proposals to high standards of quality and delivering projects on time in accordance with the brief.
  4. You will need to be comfortable delivering projects up to circa £15m in value, including Education, Housing, Distilleries and University work.

Qualifications/Experience/Qualities

  1. Technical experience in an architectural office is desired.
  2. Able to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities.
  3. Passion for design excellence and sustainability with a solid understanding of buildings energy use and a drive to reduce it.
  4. Creativity and design flair.
  5. Exceptional sketching skills.
  6. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  7. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  8. Fluency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office.
  9. Ability to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project.
  10. Revit experience on a project in the workplace of 2+ years. A Revit test could be requested prior to any offer.
  11. A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and commitment to independent, lifelong learning.
  12. Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
  13. Resilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work effectively under pressure while remaining calm and professional at all times.
  14. Good organisational skills and an enthusiastic attitude.

  1. £36,000 - £40,000
  2. 25 days annual leave + public holiday
  3. Flexible and hybrid working, minimum of 2 days required in the office
