Senior Buyer

The role
As a Senior Buyer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for a team of buyers managing tens of thousands of transactions, purchase agreements, or several service-based contracts.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for efficiently executing established supply agreements, requisition to order conversion, order book management, expediting, and payment processes. You will also:

1. Carry out requisition to order process within agreed service levels
2. Protect Babcock's commercial position by utilising agreed terms and conditions of contract and purchase orders
3. Source within existing supply agreements as defined by Project Procurement and Category Management teams
4. Lead negotiations with suppliers to ensure that the most cost-effective supply solutions are obtained
5. Provide prompt and effective provision of spot purchasing and quotation services

This role is full-time, 36 hours per week, and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Senior Buyer

1. A procurement practitioner with knowledge of current operational procurement techniques
2. Experience working with ERP systems for example, IFS, SAP, Oracle, including exposure to the latest e-procurement systems capability

Qualifications for the Senior Buyer

1. Equivalent through work experience or qualified to degree level
2. MCIPS or studying towards MCIPS or equivalent professional qualifications

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
