Senior Civil Engineer - Transmission & Distribution (Multiple Locations)

To act in a senior technical capacity in producing Burns & McDonnell's UK engineering related project deliverables relating to civil/structural engineering, within the (power) Transmission & Distribution Global Practice. This includes:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Leadership: Lead civil/structural engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with BS, Eurocodes, and ENA standards.

2. Project Execution: Manage design, analysis, and consultancy for T&D infrastructure, including substations, overhead lines, and underground cables.

3. Quality Assurance: Approve designs, conduct technical reviews, and maintain compliance with CDM Regulations.

4. Collaboration & Development: Support cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and enhance UK civil/structural engineering capabilities.

5. Innovation & Efficiency: Develop new methodologies, refine engineering processes, and integrate BIM principles (Revit, Civil 3D, Tekla Tedds).

6. Client Engagement & Business Growth: Drive customer success, support bids, and foster relationships to expand our presence in the sector.

7. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to client transmission procedures and industry best practices.

Qualifications

1. Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).

2. 7 years civil/structural design experience.

3. Expertise in client (National Grid TP, SSEN & SPEN) procedures, CDM 2015, and Temporary Works.

4. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD/BIM software, and structural analysis tools.

5. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

6. Ability to manage multiple projects and engage with diverse stakeholders.

Desirable:

1. 5 years civil/structural design experience in T&D.

2. Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status with ICE or IstructE or an equivalent professional licence gained through the professional institution to which the individual is aligned.

3. Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, APS). Experience as a Contractor Design Approval Engineer (CDAE).

4. Substation safety training (NSI 30, BESC:AIM).
