We are delighted to offer a part time 0.6wtw opportunity for Clinical or Counselling Psychologists at Band 8a within the Step 4 team, in Nottingham Adult Mental Health Directorate. We are committed to providing successful applicants support to pursue relevant extended training.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our group of clinical and counselling psychologists, working in the Step 4 Service. The Step 4 service delivers psychological therapy to people who experience a variety of mental health difficulties, including complex trauma, depression, anxiety, and co-morbid physical health conditions. We have a long- and well-established history working with hard-to-reach groups. We have an excellent working relationship with local GPs and the third sector. We are always keen to find innovative and forward-thinking ways of working to support the delivery of psychological work in Greater Nottingham.

As a group we prioritise the individual Psychologist's well-being. We want Psychologists to thrive and get the most from their employment as well as being able to balance this with their home life. Psychologists are encouraged to develop their interests within psychological therapies and also around the broader application of psychology to the mental health difficulties of the population we serve.

Main duties of the job

We see the role of the Step 4 psychologist as:

1. Delivering high quality, evidence-based, psychological interventions to improve the psychological wellbeing and quality of life of those referred to the service.
2. Supporting staff and trainees within the service through supervision and providing case consultation more widely across the Trust.

As such we believe the role is ideally suited to someone who wants to work within a therapy team and apply and develop their therapy skills and interests, including supporting developments in the wider Trust. The postholder will be an integral part of the Step 4 Team, and the Psychological Therapies provision across the Trust.

Job responsibilities

We support individual therapy work through supervision with experienced colleagues in a range of therapy models, case discussion with the wider Step 4 team, and support further training.

The successful candidates will be part of a vibrant and friendly group of psychologists who work across the Trust. We meet regularly to share ideas, CPD, and leadership meetings. Person Specification Qualifications

• Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the British Psychological Society.
• Completion of two-year post-doctoral supervisor training workshop programme (or equivalent individual workshops).

Experience

• Experience of supervised practice working as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist within adult services and/or primary care context, with complex psychological difficulties.
• Experience of working at Step 4 of the stepped care model.

Knowledge

• Extensive and up-to-date knowledge of the application of relevant psychological theories and therapies for complex psychological difficulties.
