Our Tax and Legal Ventures team is expanding its Data analytics and Artificial Intelligence capabilities. The Data and AI studio supports the Tax and Legal business in researching, building, and delivering analytics and AI-driven solutions to our clients. Deloitte's Tax Ventures team is a key strategic function within the tax and legal business and includes several future looking capabilities that combined, are helping to drive exciting and innovative growth opportunities. You'll work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of industry, tax and legal SMEs, technology, and data specialists to provide specialist data science expertise and support on a diverse range of projects with both an internal and client focus.

Your role will be as a Lead Data Scientist within our expanding AI & Data Studio, responsible for leading the design, development of early-stage concepts and scalable deployment of next-gen (Gen) AI solutions for the Tax & Legal business. You will also be responsible for leading a high performance technical team and working with Tax & Legal SMEs, other cross-functional teams within Digital Innovation to transform complex challenges into innovative applications.

Responsibilities:

• Drive the design, management and delivery of AI projects and project teams
• Translate complex T&L business challenges into precise technical requirements and design innovative AI solutions
• Work closely with Tax & Legal SMEs to build a deep understanding of business/client challenges and in the development of Proof of Concepts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and business stakeholders, to drive alignment of AI initiatives with strategic objectives while maintaining high quality, risk and governance
• Architect, develop, and deploy scalable and production-grade machine learning models
• Oversee and mentor a high-performing data science team
• Experience with Dev/ML/LLMOps frameworks
• Communication is key for this role and they should be able to clearly and confidently present/communicate insights from a business-centric perspective to a range of stakeholders.

Tax

Our comprehensive range of services encompasses everything from the completion of tax returns (corporation tax self-assessment) to complex consultancy assignments and strategic tax planning. We advise on corporate and general tax, international M&A, stamp tax, cross-border transfer pricing, reorganisations and reconstructions, and competent authority negotiations.

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
