Job Description

Senior Designer

Our team members are collaborative, creative, professional, expert and entrepreneurial. Joining our team requires skill, collaboration, leadership and a passion for design. We are presently searching for a Senior Designer for our London studio. The Senior Designer is responsible for leading all design phases for interiors projects, establishing the vision, leading the team, and has extensive client interaction.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  1. Develops overall design for project
  2. Mentoring staff and building studio culture
  3. Organizes and conducts client interviews to determine space needs and requirements
  4. Present design in an engaging and confident manner to clients and stakeholders
  5. Produces, reviews and finalizes space plans for projects
  6. Researches and selects fixtures and finishes to use for projects, maintain relationships with local FF&E representatives
  7. Extensive knowledge of detailing and finalizes details on projects
  8. Develops and delivers overall design and furniture packages
  9. Directs staff and consultants to complete design and technical drawing
  10. High level review of consultant drawings to ensure they comply with design solution
  11. Works with technical staff to resolve inconsistencies in drawings
  12. Work with cost consultant and local consultants to work towards getting the project in budget and locally code compliant.
  13. Engage with contractors to deliver design
  14. Traveling as required for international projects

Qualifications:

  1. Graduate of an architecture, interior architecture, or interior design programme
  2. 8 years' experience in corporate interior design projects
  3. Experience working on projects in the UK and/or EU
  4. Advanced Revit skills
  5. Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
  6. Must have a right to work in the UK
  7. Must be in the studio at least 3 days a week

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Extensive knowledge of design principles and space planning principles
  2. Extensive knowledge of furnishings and finishes
  3. Sketching skills to convey ideas and concepts
  4. Detailing skills including interior architecture and joinery
  5. Knowledge of RIBA Stages
  6. Familiarity with building systems and relevant codes
  7. Site Experience including engaging with contractors
  8. Extensive verbal and written communication skills
  9. Extensive presentation and graphic communication skills
  10. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead staff
  11. Intermediate MS Office Suite skills
  12. Advanced Enscape skills
  13. Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
