Location: UK (ideally South East/London)/remote.

Experience: ACA or equivalent (Top 10 accounting firm) with minimum 5 years post qualification experience in industry.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Controller to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment with our business goals. As a business partner to our General Manager and Business Unit Managers, this role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in finance and accounting, capable of providing insights into the company's financials and suggesting ways to improve financial performance.

Responsibilities

1. Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
2. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's mission and business objectives.
3. Business Partnership: Act as a financial business partner to the General Manager and Business Unit Managers, providing insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
4. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, providing accurate forecasts and financial analysis to support decision-making.
5. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
6. Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the company's assets and ensure financial stability.
7. Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and oversee internal and external audits.
8. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
9. Performance Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide actionable insights to improve financial performance and drive business growth.

Skills & Experience Required:

1. Must be fluent in English.
2. Qualified Accountant (ACA) with minimum 5 years post qualification experience in industry, ideally in leadership positions in a software business.
3. Mix of experience from Top 10 accounting firm and industry (consolidation experience multi country/currency).
4. Experience in managing a team (remote/overseas).
5. High sense of ownership, and thrive on ambiguity.
6. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting (IFRS), and regulatory requirements.
7. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies.
8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
9. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
10. Must be able to travel internationally occasionally.
11. May be required to work from office as and when necessary.
12. Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as ERP systems (GP/BPC) and advanced Excel skills.
