About Our Client

Our client is a well-established firm operating out of Cheshire. This medium to large organisation is renowned for its commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining high service standards.

Job Description

  1. Supervision & Development: Manage and mentor a Trainee Financial Accountant, providing guidance and support in their professional growth.
  2. Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Financial Controller to standardise policies, enhance processes, and drive continuous improvement across finance operations.
  3. Month-End & Reporting: Ensure a timely and accurate month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounts, management accounts, and bi-monthly lender reporting, working closely with the F&PA team.
  4. Balance Sheet Management: Oversee journal approvals, postings, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  5. Tax & Compliance: Prepare quarterly Corporation Tax and VAT calculations for submission, presenting findings to the Financial Controller and Finance Director for approval.
  6. Lender Reporting: Compile and reconcile bi-monthly lender reporting packs, ensuring adherence to lender covenants before Finance Director sign-off.
  7. Reconciliation & Accuracy: Assist in refining payment and collection reconciliation processes, ensuring customer agreements accurately reflect their true balances.
  8. Audit & Statutory Accounts: Support the Financial Controller during the external audit process and assist in preparing statutory accounts for group entities.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Financial Accountant should have:

  • A degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office.
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • A strong understanding of business principles and practices.
