Senior Financial Analysis Manager Regulator of Social Housing
Posted 15 hours 29 minutes ago by Housing Digital
We are looking for two accountancy professionals to join us as Senior Financial Analysis Managers at the Regulator of Social Housing.
With a career at RSH you'll be joining an organisation that gives you the opportunity to make a difference to people's lives, regulating a sector that houses 4 million people across England.
Working as part of our Regulatory Engagement Directorate, you will work to deliver effective regulation of an assigned portfolio of providers, gaining assurance that they are well governed and financially viable, as well as economic standards being met.
Since last year our remit has been extended to give us additional powers and responsibilities around the importance of safe, decent homes for social housing tenants and of social housing landlords being transparent and accountable to their tenants.
Job Description:As a Senior Financial Analysis Manager, you will play a key role in leading our engagement with providers. You will lead our planned inspections with registered providers, maintain an ongoing relationship for a portfolio, and manage our planned and reactive regulatory engagement. This includes oversight of our reviews of financial information and, where appropriate, taking a hands-on role for the most complex and higher risk providers. You will be part of our leadership team and be instrumental in the ongoing development of our teams and approaches to our work.
You will use your professional skills to assess and articulate the level of financial risk faced by individual providers. As such, this role offers a unique opportunity for individuals who want to apply their professional skills and understanding in a varied environment, engaging directly with providers, anticipating risks, and working with colleagues to agree next steps.
You will play a pivotal role in the success of our regulation by working to build a clear understanding of the financial, economic, and governance risks that large scale social landlords face, including the impact of the external economic climate and a wide range of treasury considerations. Working on a portfolio of providers, you will have the opportunity to use detailed financial information, modelled and analysed by our own business intelligence team, together with your own analysis of business plans and other financial information and landlord intelligence to develop robust, blended assessments of landlords' financial strength.
Responsibilities:As the successful candidate, you will have a financial background and a relevant professional qualification and be able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills with an ability to exercise sound professional judgement. You will also demonstrate an ability to appraise financial performance and business strategy in order to draw out the key issues and reach conclusions. You should have an understanding of regulation and the ability to understand good governance and risk management principles. You should also have the ability to apply experience to engage effectively with senior managers and boards of providers credibly.
