Senior Legal Counsel - 8-10 years PQE (PERMANENT)

Hunter Savage is currently partnering with this leading client to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel to work as part of their solid and growing in-house legal team. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of NI's leading companies and work in a broad in-house role. The role would suit a Solicitor with circa 8-10 years PQE who has a background in commercial contracts/commercial litigation/disputes, and has experience in delivering strategic and business-oriented legal and risk mitigation advice either in an in-house legal role or as an external legal advisor to Senior Management.

The Role

This is a broad in-house role, and your main responsibility will be to advise the overall business on a broad range of legal matters. More specifically, this will include:

  1. Advising on best practices and developing governance policies while managing the impact of external factors to ensure legal compliance.
  2. Oversight of the work allocation across the team.
  3. Assisting with and actively participating in ensuring legal compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks.
  4. Managing competing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced legal and regulatory environment.

The Person

Ideally, you will meet the following criteria:

  1. Qualified Solicitor - 8-10+ years PQE.
  2. Experience from either private practice or an in-house role.
  3. Ability to provide risk mitigation and good corporate governance.
  4. Strong legal drafting skills.
  5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders.
  6. Demonstrable experience of fostering and building lasting internal and external stakeholder relationships.
