Job Description

On behalf of The Ministry of Justice, we are looking for a Senior Interaction Designer (Inside IR35) for a hybrid 5 Month contract based 2 days per week in any UK MoJ office.

The team are currently improving tooling available to Probation Staff working in Community Sentence Management. The tools will provide Probation Staff with the right insight to better manage supervision of tagged offenders, and it will help them be more proactive by spotting patterns before a breach occurs.

Responsibilities:

Tool: Curfew violation forecaster

Design and iterate how we present the data from the forecaster so that it meets user needs and accessibility requirements.

Work closely with the User researcher to create mock-ups and prototypes to test our assumptions with users.

Ensure the developers have a clear blueprint to work from when creating the final product.

Tool: GPS Probation Product

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver the following benefits to users:

Provide easier and more consistent ways to showprobation practitioners the patterns and behaviours of those on the GPS tags they supervise.

Provide staff working in sentence management a summary of daily activity, location highlights, typical behaviour summary, etc.

Reduce the time Probation staff need to look at GPS trail data to get the information they require

Skills & experience required:

You know how to give direction on which tools, processes or methods to use and how to bring an agile delivery team along with you.

You have a firm grounding and experience in user-centred design, from concept to final delivery.

You are experienced in rapid paper and digitalprototyping. You can confidently work with developers and understand security,accessibility, version control and hosting.

You can listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders, and interpret them in a way that is clear for both audiences. You know how to manage stakeholder expectations, set direction and navigate difficult discussions.

You are a strong team player who knows how to work with and get the best out of a multi-disciplinary agile delivery team.

You create high-quality, compelling design concepts and artefacts such as personas, service maps and wireframes.

You know what good end-to-end public services look like and how to design in an inclusive, accessible way.

You have experience of developing design standards and pattern libraries and supporting others to use them.

Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas.
