Summary of the Role
As a Senior Internal Audit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and governance framework at Diligenta. You will be responsible for leading the Risk, Finance, Commercial Specialism & Professional Practices team reporting to the Head of Internal Audit. In this role, you will provide objective, compelling, and timely opinions on the effectiveness of the control framework and risk management across Diligenta's business activities, specifically risk, finance, and supplier management areas.
Working closely with the Head of Internal Audit, you will oversee the enhancement of internal audit methodologies/practices, ensuring alignment with Global IIA Standards and industry best practices.
In this role, you will provide objective, compelling, and timely opinions on the effectiveness of the control framework and risk management across Diligenta's business activities, including regulatory and people risks. You will be a key player in driving the continuous development of the internal audit team, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring efficient and strategic audit delivery across the business.

What you'll be doing:
- Leading and enhancing the internal audit methodology and professional practices, ensuring compliance with IIA Global Standards.
- Working as an effective and proactive member of the Internal Audit leadership team, developing and delivering key strategic initiatives such as agile auditing, data analytics, and the use of AI.
- Creating a risk-based, finance and commercial audit plan with clear linkage to the audit universe, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Completing the annual internal audit plan for the portfolio on time, within budget, and to professional quality.
- Assessing the effectiveness of Diligenta's delivery of Consumer Duty obligations through outcomes-based audit activities.
- Identifying control gaps and weaknesses and working closely with senior management to ensure timely and effective resolution.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience in delivering internal audit methodologies in line with IIA Global Standards, driving quality and efficiency.
- Strong understanding of the UK FCA-regulated environment and life and pensions business.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team, fostering a culture of high performance.
- Experience in risk management, corporate governance, and internal control processes.
- A relevant professional qualification, such as ACA, CIMA, or CIIA.
- Excellent stakeholder relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and balance commercial and governance priorities.
- Experience in UK life and pensions, as well as internal audit management or supervisory experience.
