Job Description

Valeo Foods Group OneIT is organised into global IT domains. The Senior IT Engineer Infrastructure reports to the IT Head of Infrastructure and is a senior expert for IT infrastructure technologies for the VFG worldwide IT infrastructure estate.

The IT Infrastructure domain is responsible for all IT infrastructure hardware and software for cloud, data centres, LAN, and WAN, the processes around these IT assets, and the 3rd and 4th level support of the same.

The Senior IT Engineer Infrastructure is to, together with the other colleagues in the IT Infrastructure team, create an IT infrastructure environment that is lean, safe, efficient, and constantly kept up-to-date for all VFG sites worldwide. The focus shall always be on using a lean, standardised portfolio of hardware and software, maximising availability, and keeping costs low within the given requirements.

Responsibilities include:

1. Being the expert on IT infrastructure technology and the VFG expert for market trends and best practices in the IT infrastructure area.
2. Reconciling business requirements with IT management, designing and maintaining related tools and processes, and assuring continuous improvement.
3. Supporting the IT Service Support organisation to conduct IT service and support for the IT Infrastructure services.
4. Helping develop and implement the IT Infrastructure strategy under the leadership of the Head of IT Infrastructure.
5. Building a strong and resilient IT Infrastructure team that can efficiently support all VFG IT requirements and be proactive in innovation.
6. Training less senior IT colleagues in IT infrastructure technologies.
7. Creating a global IT infrastructure hardware/software standard covering all legitimate requirements in the IT infrastructure area.
8. Creating an IT infrastructure target landscape that is kept up to date.
9. Creating a stable and secure cloud Hyperscalers landing zone for server workloads.
10. Developing a playbook for moving DC workloads to the cloud Hyperscalers.
11. Implementing a SDWAN covering all VFG locations and relevant cloud providers.
12. Establishing a standard LAN setup for all locations enabling seamless connectivity.
13. Ensuring a continuous improvement mindset in all IT infrastructure activities.
14. Driving efficiency improvement in the IT Infrastructure team.

Qualifications

Valeo Foods Group seeks an expert in the IT infrastructure area with a strong track record in providing great solutions in the IT infrastructure field. The ideal candidate will have:

1. Expert knowledge and experience in the configuration of hyperscale technologies (preferably Azure).
2. Experience in designing and building a secure, hardened, hyperscale infrastructure.
3. Expertise in migrating on-premise datacentre workloads to cloud-hosted infrastructure.
4. Expert knowledge and experience in virtual server technologies (VMware, HyperV).
5. Expert knowledge and experience in datacentre storage technologies (physical SAN and vSAN).
6. Expert knowledge in datacentre backup replication and disaster recovery solutions.
7. Experience working with cloud-based immutable backup solutions.
8. Expert knowledge in configuring cloud storage (AWS, Azure).
9. Experience working with data centre network technologies.
10. Extensive experience working with Windows server technologies.
11. Strong people skills focused on developing colleagues into senior infrastructure roles.
12. Good written and verbal communication skills to document and transfer knowledge to the wider team.
13. A team player with a can-do attitude and approach to working.
14. Keen ability to prioritise workloads through effective time management.
15. Understanding of the business value created by IT, specifically in the area of IT infrastructure.
