Salary: £43,200 - £53,500 plus London Weighting, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

Contract type: 12 month attachment/FTC

Location: Office Base is London Broadcasting House. This is a hybrid role.

THE ROLE

News on iPlayer is a pioneering multidisciplinary team, charged with delivering, creating and curating the best of BBC News on iPlayer. As a Senior Journalist, you'll play a key role in curating, originating and co-ordinating a wide variety of content for all audiences.

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Journalist on the team, you will work with colleagues across the BBC to showcase BBC News at its best, using analytics and audience research to guide decisions, curating and modifying output to deliver the best content to our audiences.

Are you the right candidate?

The successful candidate should have:

• A thorough understanding of analytics; how audiences consume video on streaming platforms.
• Knowledge of compliance procedures, Editorial Policy and media law considerations.
• Proven ability to edit video, with knowledge of BBC News' tools and techniques.
• Understanding of video tooling, including FCP X and tools used for BBC News' workflows.
• Willingness to work inside a multi-disciplinary team.
• Demonstrable experience of being a team player.
• Capability to juggle competing editorial demands.
