Senior Legal Counsel, Electrification, UK & IE

Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to provide strategic legal counsel and uphold the highest standards of integrity within ABB. Each day, you will ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. You will also showcase your expertise by effectively managing legal risks and fostering a culture of integrity across the organization. The work model for the role is: with some travel to ABB sites in UK and Ireland. This role is contributing to the UK and Ireland Electrification business. You will be mainly accountable for:
- Providing end-to-end legal services and integrity advice to one or more departments or operating units within the Electrification business area.
- Reviewing and negotiating contracts, drafting commercial agreements and other contractual terms in collaboration with relevant global and local business stakeholders plus Legal and Integrity team members.
- Monitoring and managing legal affairs, including but not limited to litigations (incoming and outgoing claims) and activity reports.
- Occupying a seat at the table on local strategic business matters, providing advice and identifying risks, external threats, and opportunities to the company, proactively proposing appropriate strategies.
- Supporting with local country fiduciary duties and good corporate governance, if applicable.
- University Law Degree with certificate in legal practice or hold subsequent legal/professional qualifications.
- A qualified Solicitor (8 to 10 years PQE) with a practicing certificate admitted in England and Wales.
- Fluent in English.
- "Hands-on" business partner attitude with a solution-oriented mindset, particularly coordinating with cross-functional and cross-country teams in complex transactions.
- Superior advocacy and communication skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate in writing and orally, an aptitude for practical negotiation, the capability to think clearly and quickly under pressure, the composure to satisfy multiple and often competing interests and ability to share lessons learned with teammates.

- Ability to work in a complex international environment, experience working with different cultures and an open mind which champions diversity and inclusion.
- Experience in an engineering or industrial sector required (Desirable).
