Senior Mechanical Engineer

London

We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join us in our London Studio, who shares our purpose and desire to make a positive difference to the world around them.

Supporting our MEP Associate Director, you will contribute to the engineering of a wide variety of inspirational and complex projects across the UK and Ireland, covering towns, cities and the public realm, and in the urban and natural environment. You will bring with you experience across a mix of sectors including residential, education, commercial, development and regeneration. You will have a positive impact on the environment, and help to unlock the power of place and community. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a wide range of industry experts, and high-profile private and public-sector clients and collaborators.

We are looking for a progressive and talented engineer that shares our values of being curious, collaborative, helpful, ingenious and passionate and who is keen to influence the people around them with the same understanding and empathy that they bring to their engineering. Ideally, you will be chartered, or on your chartership journey.

Key elements of the job:
  • Provide engineering discipline leadership and expertise.
  • Undertake engineering design and analysis while supervising others.
  • Identify problems and opportunities, assess and resolve problems using qualitative and quantitative measures, and supervise others to do so.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments for proposed designs.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including architects, structural engineers, and contractors, to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly.
  • Lead the production of high quality written reports on a range of projects.
  • Prepare, present and self-check technical data, drawings and tenders, and supervise others to do so.
  • Use of industry standard analysis and calculation software, and supervise others to do so.
  • Lead Internal Reviews.
  • Self-check and check others' work.
  • Ensure compliance with the duties of Designer under the CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Ensure compliance with the practice QMS, including self-checking.
  • Communicate clearly and openly internally and externally with peers and clients.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
