Job Description - Senior Operations Engineer ()

Job title: Senior Operations Engineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Communicating and planning effectively with Stakeholders at all levels within the Submarine Business and External 3rd Party service providers.
  2. Responsible for your own SAP EAM Work Centres, and facilitating Statutory Inspections as well as Planned & Reactive 3rd Party Maintenance.
  3. Controlling SAP EAM work orders, ensuring high quality detail of works is accurately recorded.
  4. Review and submission of Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) as a BAE Responsible Person (RP), monitoring compliance to 3rd party RAMS through internal audits and process confirmations.
  5. Liaising with Security Team Stakeholders to arrange site access, escorting 3rd parties and providing adherence to BAE Site Security Guidance.
  6. Driving Engagement with 3rd Party Service Providers prior to commencement of works to ensure Safe Systems of Work are in place and understood by all stakeholders.
  7. Delivering departmental processes and performing Asset Validation activities.

Your skills and experiences:

  1. Experience in an Engineering, Maintenance or Asset Management environment.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and able to communicate effectively (both written and verbal).
  3. Proficient user of Microsoft Office packages.
  4. Experience in managing and working to Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
  5. An understanding of planned, reactive and statutory maintenance.
  6. Health and safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH).
  7. Working knowledge of SAP EAM (Electronic Asset Management).
  8. Awareness of LOLER, PUWER, LEV and PSSR.

The Plant Maintenance Operations Team:

The Plant Maintenance Operations Team are responsible for ensuring asset compliance to regulatory needs, both planned and reactive. Involving the mobilisation and management of specialist 3rd party vendors. The role combines office work and traversing site wide variations in day-to-day tasks. We offer relocation support across all Submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
