Job Description - Senior PLM Delivery Manager ()

Job title: Senior PLM Delivery Manager

Location: Scotstoun, Bristol, Filton, Portsmouth. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £76,000 (depending on skills and experience)

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage and report Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) project performance including schedule adherence, earned value monitoring, estimates to completion and preparation of inputs to Control Account Manager (CAM) reviews
  • Leadership of PLM engineering resources in fulfillment of the PLM strategy and programme plans to maintain and enhance the overall digital product data systems used by Naval Ships
  • Develop and ensure PLM engineering programme management governance to ensure that overall PLM planning is communicated and managed; with improved aggregate risk, cost, dependency and resource management clearly evident
  • Ensure the business has a full understanding of the inter-dependencies that exist between each of the PLM projects and propose improved integration where appropriate
  • Collaborate with the wider PLM capability centre and IM&T project management to ensure that all aspects are fully defined to ensure customer requirements are achieved as well as ensuring the accurate recording and reporting of progress of planned targets for budget, schedule and quality.
  • Manage and promote business excellence within the PLM engineering programme management team to enable a quality assured delivery of required solutions, processes, and toolsets for all Naval Ships programmes
  • Provide leadership, guidance, best practices and direction to members of the PLM engineering programme management team

Your skills and experiences:

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in PLM processes, policies and applications to create and manage product information, e.g. CAD, PDM, Drawing management, cable management and CAM
  • Industry leading understanding of complex engineering requirements for PLM and how they relate to business objectives for the management of product information, including variation management
  • Proven experience of leading and delivering an industry leading SQEP PLM engineering team at various levels to support delivery of quality technology solutions to Naval Ships programmes
  • Proven experience in managing and developing an Engineering/PLM delivery team from management level down
  • Ability to provide thought leadership and ability to transform business thinking into business benefit and competitive advantage in relation to PLM
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience, likely to be in a technology, engineering, science or IT related discipline. Some disciplines may require a Masters level education. Chartered Engineer, or other relevant, equivalent professional registration. Member of appropriate professional institution, ideally working towards Fellow.

The PLM Capability Team:

The team is made up of PLM Delivery teams for key programmes within Naval Ships and likely to expand.

3 discipline areas of expertise for information systems.

The main focus is their digital thread from conceptual design through system and detail design, through to planning & manufacturing, service and commissioning. The team look at how to ensure the capability process and single source of data truth across the integrated digital landscape.
