Job Description

We look for character over credentials:

We're a specialist credit and surety underwriter transforming B2B credit protection with technology-enabled solutions ( website )

Founded in 2020, we are licensed and operating across the UK, EU, US and Canada with offices in London, New York and Dallas.

Since our commercial launch in March 2022, we are already serving some of the world's largest companies, providing them with superior credit protection and innovative risk management technology.

About the role:

We seek an experienced Senior Product Designer who can craft and deliver exceptional user experiences in a complex domain. As a designer at Bondaval, you will take product ideas from initial concept and discovery through to polished, high-fidelity designs ready for engineering. Your mandate will be to make a sophisticated financial service feel simple, intuitive, and trustworthy.

You'll join us at an exciting inflection point - with strong demand and product-market fit established, we're scaling up and investing in UX to bring world class user experiences to the world of trade credit insurance. If you're excited by the challenge of simplifying complexity and building trust through design, all while working in a fast-paced startup environment, then we want to hear from you.

What you'll do:

  • Simplify complex workflows: Break down complicated insurance and credit processes into user-friendly flows. You'll design features that turn traditionally convoluted tasks (underwriting, policy management, claims, etc.) into intuitive, easy-to-navigate experiences for our users. In short, you will make the sophisticated feel simple.
  • Craft trust-building interfaces: Create clean, professional, and empathetic UIs that instill confidence in users. You'll design dashboards and interactions that aren't just beautiful, but also communicate clarity and reliability - helping users trust our product with critical risk management tasks.
  • End-to-end product design: Own the design lifecycle for your projects from start to finish. You'll translate broad ideas and requirements into wireframes and interactive prototypes, solicit user and stakeholder feedback, and iterate rapidly. From low-fidelity sketches to pixel-perfect final mockups, you ensure every detail is thought through. Plus, you'll contribute to our design system to maintain consistency and scalability as the product grows.
  • User research & insight: Champion a user-centered approach at every step. You'll engage with our users (credit managers, underwriters, and insurers) to understand their needs and pain points.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work hand-in-hand with Product Managers to define solutions, and with Engineers to bring your designs to life with high quality. You'll also interface with our underwriting team to ensure your designs are feasible and meet market needs.
  • Influence product strategy: As a senior designer, you won't just execute features - you'll help shape the product's direction. You'll bring a design voice to strategic discussions, planning sessions, and roadmap reviews. By articulating the user's perspective and backing it up with research or data, you'll ensure that usability and delight are considered in every important product decision. Your creative ideas could very well define our next big feature or improvement.

About you:

  • B2B SaaS design expertise: You have 7+ years of experience in product design, with a significant portion in product-driven B2B SaaS environments. What matters is your ability to quickly grasp complex domains.
  • Proven track record: You've led design for major features or products from concept to release, preferably in a startup or fast-growth setting.
  • User-centric & analytical: You ground your design decisions in user insight and data. You love talking to users, distilling feedback into patterns, and digging into usage analytics to inform your approach.
  • Exceptional UX & UI skills: You're skilled in interaction design, information architecture, and visual design.
  • Ownership & drive: You take initiative and own your projects. We're a startup - things move fast - and you are comfortable managing your time and priorities in a dynamic environment. In short: you're reliable, self-driven, and get things done.
  • Adaptable & collaborative: You excel in environments with some ambiguity and evolving requirements. (After all, we're breaking new ground in an old industry!) You adapt quickly as priorities shift, maintaining a positive attitude and solution-oriented mindset.

Logistics:
