Senior Product Owner

At British Heart Foundation (BHF), we are dedicated to funding lifesaving research to combat heart and circulatory diseases.
As a Senior Product Owner, you'll lead the development and management of our new Data Intelligence Platform in partnership with the Medical Directorate. This platform will play a crucial role in advancing our analytics capabilities, helping measure, evaluate and share the impact of the research we fund and the health and care projects we deliver, as well as improving patient outcomes through data-driven insights.
You'll work with closely with key stakeholders within the business to deliver a product strategy for the Medical directorate, ensuring it is prioritised, planned, delivered and measured. This will include delivering the strategic direction for new features, enhancements, and capabilities.
As a data-driven decision-maker, you'll leverage key metrics to inform work and track progress. You'll also be a member of our Product and Agile Chapter and play a role in setting product standards and contributing to new processes and ways of working within British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Working arrangements
Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract.
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.
At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.
About you
With significant relevant industry experience in technology product management, you'll have strong knowledge and an understanding of digital product development and product life cycle management.
You'll have good knowledge of Agile SCRUM digital delivery processes and practices, as well as good knowledge of UX, UI and customer insight practices (learning and development towards certification can be provided).
With a proven track record of success as a Product Owner, able to demonstrate leadership of product vision, backlog management and prioritisation based on customer and stakeholder needs.
To be successful in this role you'll also have the following skills and experience:
- Significant experience of leading and line managing a team of Product Owners.
- In-depth experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams to gather requirements and steer them through discovery, refinement and delivery.
- Experience of measuring products against key performance indicators such as reach, conversion and user satisfaction.
- Experience of balancing customer needs and business needs to make effective product decisions to prioritise development.
- An excellent strategic thinker and product leader with strong commercial nous. Excellent technical skill, effective at simplifying complex problems into component parts for short, medium and long-term delivery.
- Excellent planning and organising skills, effective at prioritising, scheduling and tracking work across dependencies taking account of deadlines, staffing and resource requirements.
