Interim Senior Public Health Intelligence Specialist

Location: London, hybrid working (1-2dpw onsite)

Length: 6 months (Possibility of extension)

IR35 Status: Inside

As Senior Public Health Intelligence Specialist, the postholder will lead and advise public health intelligence to embed an insight-informed decision-making culture and enable Place-based Partnerships within the borough to improve population health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities.

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Senior Public Health Intelligence Specialist:

1. Lead and advise public health intelligence to embed an insight-informed decision-making culture and enable Place-based Partnerships to improve population health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities.
2. Prioritise resource and activity effectively based upon the most up-to-date data on population health needs and high-quality public health intelligence and analytical advice.
3. Decide policy, strategy, and action that is informed by the health and wellbeing needs and inequalities of the population and the opportunities to improve population health.
4. Assure the public health intelligence team delivers timely collating and processing of data returns for national government that meet quality standards (e.g., NHS Health Checks, National Child Measurement Programme).
5. Develop and appropriately use population health management approaches which have been initiated by the local authority and the corresponding ICB.

Essential experience of the Interim Senior Public Health Intelligence Specialist:

1. Strong experience of data analysis and dissemination of findings, with the ability to communicate complex information to analytical specialists and non-specialists.
2. In-depth knowledge and experience of local and national NHS and social care data and other relevant data sources.
3. Detailed knowledge of various statistical software packages (e.g., Excel, Python/R).
