An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Nurse to join our gene therapy research nursing team within Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) working alongside the immunology department. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual who is willing to learn and develop their expertise in clinical research on a full-time contract.

You will primarily work alongside the lead gene therapy nurse, providing support across the Gene therapy trials portfolio. You will be based in GOSH/Zayed Centre for research (ZCR) and will be expected to work flexibly both within the gene therapy team and wider afield.

The core working will be between the hours of 08.00-18.00. Some early evening, weekend and night working may be required at times.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will join the gene therapy team, which is made up of clinicians, research nurses, project managers and translational scientists. As a Band 7 research nurse, you will be responsible for leading on specific active gene therapy clinical trials, including the set-up phase, working closely with sponsors and the project management team to ensure smooth delivery of the trials. You may be required to work clinically within the team and promote high standards of both patient care and research practice and facilitate appropriate educational and training opportunities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced paediatric nurse. You must have effective organizational skills and be looking for a new and exciting challenge. You should demonstrate the ability to manage your own workload and to work as part of a team. Previous early phase and IMP research experience is not essential for the post, and a comprehensive training and development program will be available to the successful candidate.
