Your Role

Irwin Mitchell is dedicated to developing an enterprise risk management (ERM) framework to provide insights and drive actions across the firm. This framework helps stakeholders identify, assess, and mitigate risks, protecting value and uncovering opportunities for value creation.

As a Senior Risk Analyst, you will work with the Head of Risk, Resilience, and Internal Audit to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, conducting risk assessments, and developing risk management strategies. Key tasks include analysing risk data, preparing reports, and collaborating with various departments to implement risk controls. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication of complex risk concepts are essential.

The role involves working with all areas of Irwin Mitchell, including those regulated by the SRA and FCA.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support the ongoing development, management and embedding of IM's Enterprise Risk Management Framework
  • Lead risk forum activity, discussions and actions to better identify, assess and migrate risk
  • Maintain the suite of risk register and provide insight and analysis of key risks and risk aggregation
  • Build relationships with risk leaders to drive appropriate risk migration activity
  • Undertake risk and control assessment and support risk evaluation exercises
  • Prepare insightful risk reporting for key governance committees and regular management information
  • Support the Resilience team in risk management providing insight to develop the business continuity and resilience framework
  • Support the Internal Audit team to build an accurate and complete risk and control profile that can be used to perform assurance activity

About You
  • Strong experience and technical understanding in Enterprise Risk Management and support the rollout of ERM frameworks
  • Collaborative personality that leads change and brings people together
  • Gravitas to manage and influence a wide range of stakeholders across the IM
  • Experience in leading risk stakeholder meetings to understand key risks and risk management practices
  • Stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate and influence senior management in the organisation
  • Management of the risk event
  • Has an appropriate qualification in Risk Management
  • Practical experience of ERM
  • Previous experience of working in a legal/professional services environment is desirable
  • Logical and clear thinker
  • Professional manner
