We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Physiotherapist Occupational Health and Wellbeing. You will be experienced in working in a healthcare setting and enthusiastic about delivering a high quality service.

Main duties of the job

To provide highly specialist physiotherapy fitness to work assessments, treatment interventions and case management for own caseload of occupational health patients with musculoskeletal conditions. To assess, treat and manage own complex caseload using specialist knowledge and skills as an autonomous practitioner, including the maintenance of comprehensive records. To provide specialist advice to physiotherapy colleagues and other members of the occupational health team regarding occupational health physiotherapy. The post holder will be embedded within the Occupational Health Department, but will also actively link with the musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapy service. To undertake a team leader role in managing, planning and delivering the physiotherapy service within occupational health. To supervise, teach and develop less experienced physiotherapists, student physiotherapists and other members of the occupational health multidisciplinary team. Act as a senior member of the occupational health clinical team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be working as an autonomous practitioner leading the musculoskeletal assessment and treatment Physiotherapy service for staff via the King's College Hospital Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service.

To provide specialist musculoskeletal assessment skills to support the Physiotherapy Service within the Department of Occupational Health & Wellbeing setting.

To work as an autonomous and effective member of the Occupational Health (OH) team, communicating appropriately with patients (trust staff are patients' in OH), managers, human resource advisors and other team members as required.

Take a supportive role in assisting the Lead Physiotherapist OH, in the daily delivery of clinical services as well as contributing to the development of staff Physiotherapy service.

To facilitate improved work ability or the early and safe return to work of staff on sickness absence through phased return to work programmes and adjustments. To provide evidenced based treatments and clinical intervention for people with a range of musculoskeletal conditions. To teach and offer advice to colleagues and other members of the OH MDT regarding Physiotherapy OH interventions.

The post holder will work within the Occupational Health Department at King's College Hospital but may also be required to work on alternative sites (i.e. to complete work place assessments or cover other off-site clinics).

Person specification Education and Qualifications
  • To have a degree or other recognised qualification in Physiotherapy
  • HPC Registered
  • Wide ranging post graduate clinical experience and knowledge including neurology, orthopaedics, chronic pain and rehabilitation
Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in working in a clinical setting.
  • Recognise boundaries of own knowledge / skill
  • Awareness of Clinical Governance and its implications for the Physiotherapy service
