Position: Senior Associate, Private Client Tax
Location: Oldbury
About the Opportunity
I am working with a leading national audit, tax, advisory, and consulting firm that is seeking a Senior Associate to join their Private Client Tax team in Oldbury. The Private Client team provides tax compliance and advisory services to a wide range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, owner-managed businesses, and partners.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in the professional and private client sectors who is looking to build a career with a growing and supportive team. You will be involved in delivering high-quality advisory services, managing client relationships, and contributing to the development of the firm's services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clients with proactive and reactive tax planning services, both in the UK and overseas.
- Take an active role in advisory services, working with clients from various departments and offices.
- Run meetings with clients to discuss their tax affairs and future planning opportunities.
- Manage personal tax relationships for a portfolio of clients, helping them comply with tax filing and payment obligations.
- Oversee the personal tax compliance cycle, including tax computations, returns, and liaising with clients and HMRC.
- Delegate preparatory tasks to junior staff and review their work for accuracy and completeness.
- Handle tax-related enquiries from HMRC on behalf of clients.
- Develop and maintain relationships with other agents and third parties, such as investment managers and banks.
Candidate Requirements
- ATT and/or CTA qualification (or nearing completion).
- Significant experience in the professional and private client sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on client service.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work while meeting deadlines.
- A passion for client service and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
