Job Description

This is a unique opportunity for a deeply knowledgeable and well-connected regulatory professional to help shape Bloomberg's engagement on key policy and regulatory developments - in the UK, across Europe, and globally.

This role sits at the intersection of policy, finance, and technology. You'll work closely with Bloomberg's senior leadership and product experts to navigate an evolving regulatory environment and advocate for thoughtful, effective rules that benefit markets, our business, and our clients.

What You'll Do

  • Lead high-level engagement with key UK regulators including the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Bank of England, and HM Treasury, as well as other relevant European and global regulators and policymakers. Represent Bloomberg on industry working groups and roundtables.
  • Anticipate and analyse regulatory trends, particularly in areas such as market structure, data, operational resilience, benchmarks, asset management, risk, and sustainable finance.
  • Shape policy outcomes by clearly articulating Bloomberg's positions in regulatory consultations, public comment letters, and bilateral discussions.
  • Advise senior leaders across Bloomberg through strategic policy briefings and updates, enabling informed decision-making in a complex regulatory landscape.
  • Collaborate across the business - including Legal, Compliance, Product, Risk, and Sales - to ensure a consistent and informed response to regulatory initiatives.
  • Support Bloomberg's convening power by contributing to events and discussions that bring together senior policymakers, regulators, and financial market leaders.
What You Bring
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, ideally within a regulatory authority, central bank, or in a regulatory/government affairs team at a financial institution or large corporate.
  • Deep knowledge of the UK and EU regulatory landscape, with a strong grasp of global policy developments and the political context shaping them.
  • Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following: market infrastructure, ESG and sustainable finance, data governance, financial risk, or regulatory technology.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory issues into actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders.
  • A collaborative, strategic mindset and comfort operating in a fast-paced, intellectually demanding environment.
