Our User Research team

We're a team of 19 researchers embedded in collectives like Core Banking and Business Banking etc, collaborating closely with Product Design, Product Management, and Engineering teams. Led by Katherine Vaughan, our Director of Research. Research at Monzo is embedded into the Design org at Monzo. We are constantly growing and looking for amazing talent to join this highly impactful team.

You'll play a key role by

  • Moving the business towards demonstrably better customer outcomes in your product area.
  • Having a tangible impact on your collective or squads' quarterly metrics and commercial outcomes.
  • Identifying the biggest opportunities and prioritising your efforts towards them.
  • Shaping the most impactful research questions your squads or collective need to answer to move towards customer and company goals.
  • Choosing the most effective research method to provide actionable insights in the time available.
  • Planning and executing projects to a high standard, balancing pace, quality and breadth to have the most impact.
  • Weaving quantitative and qualitative insights together to get as close as possible to the truth, whilst being clear on limitations.
  • Effectively sharing actionable user insights through clear written and verbal communications.
  • Making use of relationships you've built with peers in other disciplines to increase the impact your work can have.
  • Forming a robust and reliable point of view and sharing this with cross-discipline partners.

This role can be based in our London office, but we're open to distributed working within the UK (with ad hoc meetings in London).

The application journey has 3 key steps

  • An introduction call with our recruiter Natalie (30 mins).
  • A technical 'research methods' task interview with 2 of our Research leadership team (60 minutes).
  • 2 x 45 minute interviews as part of the 'final loop'.
