Job Description
Overview: Extension of Rachel Ragan (Senior UX Designer on Research Platforms) contract through to end of FY25.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- User-Centric Design: Employ a deep understanding of our users' workflows to develop intuitive and seamless user experiences across our internal platforms.
- Accessibility Advocacy: Champion accessibility design principles and practices to ensure inclusivity and usability for all users.
- Collaboration with Tech Teams: Bridge the gap between design and technology by effectively communicating and exchanging ideas with our technical teams, particularly in distinguishing between data and machine learning applications.
- User Testing: Conduct rigorous user testing to swiftly validate design concepts and iterate based on user feedback, ensuring the effectiveness and relevance of our solutions.
- Data-Informed Design: Utilize complex qualitative and quantitative data to surface insights and inform more efficient design decision-making processes within our internal teams.
- Service Design Mapping: Leverage your experience in mapping service design to visualize and optimize the holistic user journey, identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement.
- Change Management: Guide internal teams through the adoption of new tools and processes, fostering buy-in and ensuring successful implementation.

- Data Literacy: Ability to analyze and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data, using insights to drive informed design decisions and improvements.
- Change Management: Ability to navigate organizational change processes and effectively communicate the benefits of design improvements to internal stakeholders.
Skills and Experience
- Strong UX Fundamentals: Demonstrated expertise in core UX principles, with a focus on understanding users' end-to-end workflows across physical and digital touchpoints.
- Accessibility Design: Proven experience in implementing accessibility best practices to ensure inclusive design solutions.
- User Testing: Proficiency in conducting user testing sessions, gathering actionable feedback, and iterating designs accordingly.
- Tech Collaboration: Experience collaborating with technical teams, with a good understanding of data and machine learning concepts to facilitate effective communication and idea exchange.

Ideal Experience:
- Design System Maintenance: Experience in contributing to and maintaining design systems, ensuring consistency and efficiency in design processes.
- UX Advocacy and Workshops: Ability to advocate for UX within the organization and facilitate workshops to involve users in the design process.
